Everyone of us have at least one gift God has given us. A lot of us spend so much of our lives trying to figure out what that gift is and it is right in front of your face. You use it everyday but don't think of it as a gift. Most of us are looking for this huge, beyond expectation kind of gift but could be something as simple as your personality, your caring heart, your servant heart, your organizational skills, or many other things that are not over the top, but they are you. God gives you gifts that can be used to better those around you. He doesn't give you gifts for you to keep to yourself. I was listening to Myles Monroe and he was talking about fruit trees. He said that a fruit tree does not bare fruit for itself, it bares fruit so that those around it may be fed by its fruit. The fruit tree does not eat its own fruit. Just like the fruit tree, we should not keep our gifts to ourselves. We need to share whatever gift(s) God has given you. Now, also keep in mind that there are different gifts that can be given during different stages of your life. What your gift is now may develop into something different and bigger later on. That new gift can be based on how you dealt with your current gift.

When you use your gift you never know how it will affect someone. I was reminded one evening of a gift that God gave me by a young man that I have known his entire life. He told me how the "safe zone" I created during our Bible Study was helpful for him growing up. (That's not the full conversation but this part truly blessed me). This came at a point when I wasn't sure what direction to take or how to deal with the discouragement that I had been feeling. This conversation let me know that although I may be trying to look at a bigger picture as to what it is that I want to do, there is still work to be done with the current gift I have. It was the boost that was needed.

Our initial conversation was about his ministry but our conversation began to minister to both of us. It is amazing what God can do when you are open to letting him in. We had been trying to connect with each other for about (2) weeks and because of schedules we weren't able to connect. We both realized that we weren't supposed to connect then, it was meant for that night because we both needed what the other one had. God is AWESOME.

So, what I want you to know is that you have a gift. It may not be a gift that will get you national recognition but it will be something that can touch at least one person and then that person touches two, then they each tough two and it continues. So you may not see what affect you have but just know that you did. No gift is to small or too large. The Bible says that your gift will make room for you (Proverbs 18:16). So no matter what the your gift is, it is for you. No one can take your gift or use your gift. It has your name on it. If you don't use it, it won't be used. Don't waste the wonderful gift God has given you.
