This is a Brand New day and guess what? You get another 24 hours or 1440 minutes or 86,400 seconds to make the most of your day. That is your prize for being Blessed to see this day. All the things that you thought you were going to do yesterday but didn’t around to doing, here another chance. That phone call you were going to make, that email you were going to send, that video you were going to make, whatever it is that you were planning to do yesterday but didn’t get around to it, get around to it today. You have been blessed to see another day with endless opportunities in it for you, don’t waste it. It’s funny, when people start acting like a different person, we tell them, “Don’t start acting brand new”. Well, I am telling you act brand new. I want you to act like today is the greatest gift that you have ever been given. Better yet, I want you to realize that today IS the greatest gift you have ever been given. Realize that without the gift of today, nothing else matters. If you don’t get today, the stuff you didn’t yesterday, never get done. The people you wanted to say something special to, never get to hear it. We take it for granted that we are going to get tomorrow, but to be honest, you might not. I don’t mean to come off like the grim reaper, but we need to pay attention to what is going on around us. There are people dying everyday and any age. So, maybe you do get the gift of today, there is someone who didn’t. It may not be someone you know personally, but it is someone that somebody else knew personally and they are hurting right now. Unfortunately, one day it will happen to you, expected or not.
Like I said, I am not trying to bring you down, I should say us down, I am just trying to make sure that we don’t waste the gift of today. The Bible says in Matthew 6:34 – “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” In other words, don’t worry about tomorrow because there is enough going on today to think about tomorrow. The Bible also says in James 4:13 - 15 – “13. Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” This one is also telling you to focus on today because tomorrow is not a guarantee. The visual is something to think about. So, when you are at home, get your spray water bottle or air freshener and spray it in the air. Watch it for as long as you can. This is what it is referring to. In the grand scheme of time, that represents your part of it. Humbling! This is also why it is important to take advantage of the time we have here and do what we can to affect as many people as possible. Let’s look at the spray bottle and the air freshener. When you spray the water, once it is out of the air you cannot tell it was ever there. But, when you spray the air freshener, although you don’t see it anymore, you know it was there because it left its mark. That is how we want to be. We want to leave our mark well after we are gone.

So, with this gift of today, leave your mark. Do the things that you need to do, say the things that need to be said and leave your mark wherever you can. Don’t worry about tomorrow and focus on today. Today is a gift and tomorrow a wish. Deal with what you have, not what you hope to get. Be Brand New because today is.
